Atmosphere 2018 APAC

Aruba Networks’, a Hewlett Packard Enterprise company, Atmosphere 2018 Asia Pacific event held in Centara Grand and Bangkok Convention Center – Bangkok Thailand, 4-6 September 2018. This event was attended by more than 1800+ participants from various countries in Asia Pacific consisting of Disty, partners and customers and the media. First-off, Aruba’s co-founder and President, Keerti Melkote, in the opening explained the various sectors that would be affected by technological disruption from education to hospitality. It means inviting companies to take advantage of technological developments. It means giving details of the five types of businesses that are threatened by the impact of technological disruption, from factories, hotels, workplaces, shops, to schools. “For example, hotels are disrupted because Airbnb (https://www.airbnb.com/) can rent a house / apartment without having a room. Then, the school where we study, now someone can study online through Coursera (https://about.coursera.org/), even get a degree, “explained Keerti Melkote in his opening.

He also took the example of Alibaba that it can use technology in retail. It means urging companies to take advantage of technological developments, not the other way around. If not, the business owned will be threatened with erosion in the next 10 years. He also gave an example of programs that became Aruba’s success stories, such as Smart Hospital (Bangkok Hospital), Bangkok Hospital, and there were also Smart Cities developed in Rajahstan, India which had paperless policies that facilitated services such as social assistance, administration, and health. The two customer institutions were invited to go onstage and interview a little success story.
